Composer | Sound Designer | Orchestrator

Born in Japan, raised in Southern California, educated in Boston, Kenji Ichiyanagi is a New York-based multi-award-winning composer for film and television.

After earning degrees in both Film Scoring and Music Synthesis from Berklee College of Music with a full scholarship and awards, Kenji possesses more than 20 years of progressive experience in composition, sound design, and orchestration for film, television, advertising, and other visual media. His work includes over 3,000 episodes of various Emmy®-winning drama series and documentaries on major networks. He is also a pro audio technical specialist for media productions, software/hardware developers, studios, and musicians.

Kenji has co-developed sample libraries (originally called Jam Pack) exclusively for Apple’s Logic Pro and GarageBand as well as MIT and IRCAM (Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music in France)’s real-time immersive mixing engine, SPAT, which is currently available from Flux Software Engineering.

Over the last few decades, Kenji has been driven to create inspired work by collaborating with agencies, filmmakers, editors, producers, writers, musicians, and artists of all stripes.
